What is the Safety Net?
Sickday created its Safety Net specifically for New York’s creative community, many of whom are uninsured and struggling to find quality, affordable urgent care. It provides Safety Net members the luxury of never having to leave their homes or offices when they're sick; they simply call Sickday and medical care is dispatched directly to them. No crowded waiting room, no blank forms, no inflated pricing – quality care, delivered via a medical house call.
What does it cost?
It’s free to join the Sickday Safety Net; we simply need your name, address and e-mail to anticipate your call and be properly staffed to meet your needs. Once in the net, you are guaranteed fixed pricing for each house call visit when and if you need it. The cost of each house call is $75.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, simply call Sickday at 212-sickday (212-742-5329) and we’ll be happy to schedule your house call visit. We guarantee same day service. Sickday practitioners are available seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
What conditions do you treat?
For a list of the most common conditions we treat please visit the Conditions Treated page, or feel free to call us if you have a specific question. Sickday is not an emergency room replacement, and we do not treat patients experiencing chest pains, shortness of breath, or head trauma as these may require immediate hospitalization. If you are having a medical emergency, please go to the emergency room or dial 911 immediately.

Why is Sickday doing this?
First and foremost, we’ve heard countless stories over the years about creative, uninsured New Yorkers facing price gouging just because they’re vulnerable to it. They run the gamut, from our local musicians to actors, painters, photographers, models, art directors, dancers, filmmakers, writers, visual artists, etc. New York wouldn’t be New York as we know it without this creative energy, and we think we can help keep this community healthy and thriving while proliferating the medical house call model.
We believe in the house call model for patient care, it’s just a better experience for both patients and practitioners. We’d like to see a resurgence of this old concept, which dominated care delivery for decades. In order for that to happen, house calls need to be affordable. The Sickday Safety Net represents our first attempt to offer affordable house calls on a broad basis.
Why just the creative communities?
Sickday has operated an on-demand medical house call service in Manhattan for years and it’s been largely supported by the creative community. It’s our way of giving back.
I get it. How can I help?
